Obituary of Eric Larry Hanson
Eric Larry Hanson – April 5, 1946 – July 14, 2024
Friday, April 5, 1946 the world was blessed with a walking angel. Eric was born in Indian Head, Saskatchewan. Eric was predeceased by his parents John and Myrtle Hanson, son Robert John Hanson, sisters Ruby Dearston, Patsy Kelly, brothers Robert and Richard Hanson, and daughter-in-law Brenda Hanson.
Eric is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, partners in crime for fifty-five, Louise Hanson. His four children Kenny Hanson (Tanis), Scott Hanson (Lindsay), Janea Hanson and Jeremy Hanson; ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; and his diva Sassy and little lady Charlie.
Eric met his soulmate Louise at the Regina Hotel in 1969 and the rest is history. They added to their brood with Janea in 1973 and Jeremy 1976. They semi-settled down in their house on Wallace street in 1974, where all the memories happened.
Eric worked at Wallace Construction for over 35 years. He was also the coach for the Wallace Construction baseball team, which of course he made sure that they brought home the championship trophy many times. Dad so loved working at Wallace, he liked the customers he worked with and of course the staff.
Eric was just an amazing person, with a heart bigger than the Grand Canyon. Eric excelled in every single thing he did. From being the best damn fastball pitcher to one hell of a golfer. Shuffleboard, well just forget it, he kicked everyone’s butt!
Eric’s favourtie thing in life was to swing on his front porch with his girls; Louise, Sassy and Charlie. Dad just loved having family around him. Eric had his own little crew, Kenny, Jeremy, Nathan, Alex, Logan and Zack. They were the "poker boys" and would even try to beat him at shuffleboard on Sundays.
Grandpa wore that name with pride. He was top notch when it came to his grandchildren. Grandpa held a special place in his heart for his sweetie Emma, the highlight of his week was texting with her and taking her to lunches on Friday.
Eric ALWAYS was so grateful for the life he had, he said he was one hell of a lucky man.
The family would like to thank Dr. Hagel, Nurse Brittney, EVERY SINGLE EMPLOYEE AND VOLUNTERR of the Allan Blair Cancer Clinic and Dr. Soudeh Taghdiri.
Requesting Eric’s wishes, there will be no service. Donations can be made to ccrezq’s or Regina Cat Rescue.
Grand[a would like you to have a really good ceaser or a really cold beer and cheers him and his wonderful life. Be kind to everyone you meet, and hug your loved ones.
In Loving Memory
Eric Hanson
