Obituary of Niel Halford

Niel Halford was born May 28, 1948 and passed away on July 16, 2024. He was raised by Margaret and Ivan Halford in Regina, Swift Current and Prince Albert. Niel completed an MA in psychology, then worked as a psychologist in the Fort Saskatchewan jail. After completing a law degree at the U of A, Niel moved to Fort Qu'Appelle where he opened his law practice, which he ran for decades. Niel was always proud of Nicholas Smiatek, who later took over his practice. Niel's commitment to the Qu'Appelle Valley community is well-known.

Niel is remembered for his kindness, humour, generosity, and his love of gardening, carpentry and animals.

Niel will be remembered by his mother, sister, brother, 2 children and 5 grandchildren. His family will hold a private ceremony.  Everyone is encouraged to celebrate Niel's life and spirit.
