Obituary of Verden Valentine Yahnke

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our Dad, Verden Valentine Yahnke on Sunday, June 30, 2024 at the age of 84.

He was predeceased by his loving wife of 56 years, Caroline; and great-granddaughters Daisey and Zoey Cunningham; parents Mike and Elizebeth Yahnke; siblings, Ernie and Eddie (in infancy), Evelyn (Frank) Werscheler, Reinhold (Dina) Yanke, Ruth (Phillip) Schick, John (Emma) Yahnke, Ernest (Margaret) Yahnke,  Pearl (Bill) Danchuk, Gladys Kitch, Edna (Gordon) Olm, Iris (Walter) Miller, Aradine Semechuk; in-laws Fred Graff, Kenneth Andrews, Lavina (Paul) Thompson, Sigurd Smith; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. Verden is survived by his daughters Corinna (Scott) Cunningham and Tamra (Dale) Griffin; grandchildren Michael, Krista (Adrian), Amanda, Kelsi, Hannah (Chris), Joel (Jayna), and great grandson, Morgun. He is also survived by his sister, Vera Andrews; brother, Victor (Marion) Yahnke; sister-in law, Myrna Smith; along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A special thank you to all the wonderful nurses and caregivers at the Bengough Health Center for taking care of Dad throughout his stay and treating him as a part of their family. A Celebration of Verden’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 5, 2024 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 2015 4th Ave. N., Regina, SK. with interment to follow at Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mount Olive Memorial Fund, or Parkinson’s Research.
