Obituary of Eldon Cecil Johnson

Eldon Cecil Johnson passed away at Parkside Special Care Home in Regina, SK on Saturday, June 22, 2024.

Our hearts are deeply saddened but we know that he is now with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, free from pain and suffering.

Eldon was born to Harry and Cecile Johnson at Milestone, SK on June 4, 1926. Besides his parents, Eldon was predeceased by his wife, Luella; son Wesley Arnold; sister Reatha Pritchard; brother-in-law Arnold Pritchard; sister-in-law Glenna Johnson; nephew Marlo Johnson; Marlo’s wife, Trish Johnson; and niece Judy Stockdale.

Eldon is lovingly remembered by his daughter Carol (Clark) Lungren and their children Derek (Myriam), Loren (Lisa) and Julia; daughter-in-law Karen (Merle) Isaacson and her children Dallas (Amy), Dylan (Jolene), Kyle (Melissa) and Shanalyn Johnson; and his great-grandchildren. Also left to cherish Eldon’s memory are his brother Arlo and his family; sister-in-law Thelma and her family; brother-in-law Eric (Luella) Pritchard and their family; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Eldon attended Hawthorn School near Parry, SK. He married Luella Grace Pritchard on April 23, 1949 Pangman, SK. Eldon and Luella moved to Burkino Faso in 1950 to be career missionaries for 38 years from 1950 to 1988. Upon returning to Canada, they continued in ministry in Winnipeg, Calgary and Regina.

Eldon had an amazing love for people of all nations. His “families” are: 1) his biological family, 2) Pangman Bethel Mission family, 3) Regina Apostolic Church family, 4) Trossachs Gospel Camp family, 5) Burkina Faso church and community families, 6) Mason Avenue family, 7) more recently, Parkside Special Care Home became his family from September 2021 to the present. Which ever “family” you find yourself in, know that you were loved by Eldon.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 4, 2024 at Regina Apostolic Church, 808 Assiniboine Avenue East, Regina, SK.
