It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marla Pauline Desnomie (Sleeps with Grandmother’s Spirit) on Sunday, June 23, 2024. Marla was surrounded by her husband, Claude; and her children, Jenna, Cheyanne, Rick and Abby, as she made her journey to the spirit world.

Marla was predeceased by her mother Theresa Cyr; father Donald McArthur; daughter Becky Cyr; stepfather Alfred Cyr; and brothers Lawrence, Alfred, and Darren. She is survived by her husband Claude Desnomie; children Jenna, Cheyanne, Rick and Abby; grandchildren Declan and Lucas; siblings Margaret, Delbert, Calvin, Ron, Joe, Marie, David, Wanda, Eleanor and Dan; her McArthur siblings Susan, Corrine, Brian, Elaine, Gaylene, Irene, and Dale; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Marla was an accomplished educator and business owner. She was very passionate about encouraging and helping people reach their dreams and goals.

Marla will be greatly missed by all the lives she has impacted.

A Wake will be held from 4:00 p.m. until Sunrise on Friday, June 28, 2024 at Pasqua Reserve Band Hall, Pasqua First Nation. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at the same location. We kindly ask that no children under 10 years old are in attendance.
