Obituary of Mark Joseph Coueslan
Mark Joseph Coueslan
January 23, 1955 - June 11, 2024
Mark Joseph Coueslan of Regina, SK passed away peacefully on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 11, 2024 in Palliative Care at the Pasqua Hospital. His health had been failing for many years due to various complications. He will be remembered and mourned by his two sisters and their families, Tracy Coueslan (Rodney Chatterson) and their children, and Lindsay Coueslan and her children. Mark is survived by his son Travis. He will also be missed by his girlfriend Robin. Sadly, Mark was recently predeceased by his son Austin, aged 28 on April 14, 2024, which broke Mark's heart. Mark was also predeceased by his parents, Henri Joseph and Marie-Jeannette Coueslan; sister Dorian (Terry Ward); and brother Kent Coueslan.
Mark was born in Regina and brought home to the family farm, southwest of Wolseley. He was the eldest of five children. The four oldest children had many adventures on the farm and were allowed to run free as long as they stayed away from the dreaded dugout. Much time was spent in the hayloft playing in the bales, climbing up and jumping down. Also, the magical forest where Mark had his tree house and two swings was another favourite spot for all the children to gather. Here Mark lived until the age of 10, when the family moved to town. Mark was an intellectual and could converse on any topic. As a child at St. Anne's RC School, he was an accelerated student, thus finishing school early. Mark loved sports and was good at them. At the local track and field meets in Wolseley and area, he usually won the coveted crest. Mark played hockey and football for many of his school years. Prior to retiring, Mark was the manager of Co-op Cabs and co-owned an apartment building which he enjoyed fixing up. Mark has finally found peace and has joined Austin and their cat, Pedro. A special thank you to his sister, Lindsay who helped care for Mark these past number of years and his brother-in-law Terry, who helped Mark in so many ways.
In Loving Memory
Mark Coueslan
