Obituary of Ida Lekness

Ida Lekness (née Watson) passed away peacefully on Friday, June 14, 2024, at the age of 96 years old.

Ida was predeceased by her loving husband of 72 years, Christian (2022); daughter Wendy (2023); and son Bill (2016). She was also predeceased by her parents, William and Edith Watson; four brothers, Tom, Bill (Muriel), Bud, and Larry; and brother-in-law Dave Andison.

Ida is survived by her daughter-in-law Christine; son-in-law Gerald Romich; and three granddaughters, Nikole (Gustavo), Kiki McGavigan, and Ashlee Romich (Tyson). She will also be dearly missed by her six great-grandchildren Rylee, Noah, Kiva, Max, Oaklan, and Ximena. She leaves behind her beloved sister Nola Andison; and sisters-in-law Beret, Anne, and Mary.

Ida was a woman who loved deeply and was deeply loved by all who knew her. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering support touched the lives of many, and she was known for her open heart and generous spirit. Ida’s memory will be cherished by her family and friends.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Parkside Special Care Home for the kindness and love they showed Ida during her time there.

Ida’s legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

A Celebration of Ida’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 24, 2024 at St. Paul’s Cathedral, 1861 McIntyre Street, Regina, SK.
