Obituary of Eleanor Katherine Heuchert

Just after midnight on Sunday, April 28, 2024, Eleanor Katherine Heuchert (nee Temple), age 85, passed away in her sleep at the Regina General Hospital.  She was born in Goodeve, SK to Michael and Elizabeth Temple (nee Hollinger) on February 24,1939.  Eleanor was the youngest of seven children.  She attended Sheppard School and continued to Melville, at which time she lived in Melville at her brother Charlie’s and went home to the farm on the weekends. 

In 1956, she married John Heuchert and settled in Regina to start their family.  They had three children, Wendy, Wesley (Theresa) and Bradley (Jocelyn).  She liked to bowl, play bingo and crib and loved to go shopping with her sister, Lydia.  Eleanor also loved her sports on TV including baseball and curling.

After her husband, John, passed away in 2013, she was able to stay in her home until 2018.  Then she moved into Highland Manor not far from her home with John.  When her health started to fail, she then moved to the Revera Renaissance, where she lived since 2023.

Besides her children, Eleanor leaves to mourn, her grandchildren Luke (Lindsay), Tyler (Topasannah), Kristi, Jeremy Adam (Heayoung), Janine (Shaun), Taniya (Ashten) and Sage (Mike); great-grandchildren Abigail (Ryan), Alexa, Hayden, Chloe, Mahlia, Liam, Tanner, Talise, Brandt, Kingston, Maple and Baker; one great-great-grandchild Asher; brother Albert (Phyllis); sisters Gertie and Lydia; sister-in-law Rose; as well as many nephews and nieces. Besides John, Eleanor was predeceased by Wendy, Charlie, Bill (Emily), Peter, John (Lorraine), Sam and Otto. 

A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 24, 2024 at Regina Memorial Gardens, 4001 Victoria Avenue East, Regina, SK, please meet at the cemetery gates just prior to 1:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Mount Olive Memorial Fund.
