It is with great sadness and love that we announce the passing of Val, our beloved daughter, wife, mother, sister and grandmother on Monday, May 6, 2024.

Val was born in Nipawin, SK on April 16, 1950. She later moved to Calgary with her family where she met her husband, Maurice. Their journey brought her to Regina. After retiring, Val and Maurice moved to Saskatchewan Beach starting another adventure by making new friends, travelling, and enjoying time with family.

Val was predeceased by her father Peter Bergen; brother-in-law Pete Fitzhugh; and stepfather Robert Ratz. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Maurice; daughter Yvonne (Danny);  grandchildren Danny, Dylan, Jackie (Preston) and Tricia (Peter); four great-grandchildren; mother Margeurite; brothers Murl (Lou) and John (Bev); sisters Irene, Marlene (Horst), Marion (Perry) and Tammy (Ray); along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

In keeping with Val’s wishes, a viewing will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 13, 2024 at Paragon Funeral Services, 521 Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK. Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 14 at Broadway United Church, 105 Broadway Avenue, Regina, SK. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Regina Memorial Gardens, 4001 East Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
