Obituary of Lacey-Mae Margaret Fayant

Please share a memory of Lacey-Mae to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Lacey-Mae Fayant on March 24, 2024 at 39 years of age.

Lacey was predeceased by her mother, Roxanne Fayant, foster family members, Eyob, Farron, Joshua, Carter and Zac; grandparents Willard and Irene Fisher, and great-grandparents David and Rita Walker.

Lacey will be sadly missed by her long-time foster parents, Norma and Rick Fisher; siblings Selena; Gabe; Gabby; Justin (Carmen) Fisher, Jude, Annika, Evelyn and Amelia; Josh (Dea) Fisher; Jarred (Jessica) Fisher, Ella-Rose; Jenna (Dalyn) Taylor, Wesley; grandparents June and Ed Thorpe as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Lacey became part of the Fisher family in August of 1993. From the start, she fit right in to her new surroundings and shared happily in the laughter and love of the people who became her forever family. Lacey attended Jean Vanier and Greenall schools where she was loved by all who had the opportunity to work with, and know her.

After graduating from school, Lacey was part of a new day-program called Regina Programming for Life, and later became a valued member of the Day program of Chip and Dale Homes. Lacey was recently seen on CTV news during the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the grand opening of their new facility.

Lacey enjoyed listening to music and her taste ranged from 80's classic rock to Phantom of the Opera. She enjoyed listening to E-books and one of her favourite activities at her day program was the bells. She could always count on Brad to get her the bells. She thrived on one on one attention and loved to be part of large group commotion.

Lacey loved life and her smile could warm any heart and brighten any room. Lacey had a wonderful laugh and when you heard it, you had to join in. Through the years, Lacey faced many health issues, but was always fearless, and overcame each one with a smile. This last one was just too much for her, but Lacey certainly tried. A special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and support staff of Emergency, lnterventional Radiology department, and the MICU of the Regina General Hospital. Your dedication to Lacey's care will never be forgotten. She became a family member of the Angie team as her visits for life-sustaining care became a regular routine in her life. Every member of the team always treated her with such tender care. A sincere thank you to Dr. Surtie for your dedication to Lacey's health care over the years. Lastly to the Northgate Medicine Shoppe, thank you for always being a constant source of information, support and advice.

Lacey will be laid to rest at Regina Memorial Gardens following a Celebration of her Life on Thursday April 4, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the Community of Christ Church, 4710 8th Avenue, Regina, SK. A luncheon at the church will follow Lacey's interment.

Flowers are most graciously declined but those wishing to do so, may make a donation in Lacey's memory to either The Community of Christ, Chip and Dale Day program, or the Hospitals of Regina Foundation
