Obituary for Kenneth, George Hungle

March 18, 2024

Kenneth George Hungle, 67, of Regina, SK passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on Saturday, March 16, 2024, after a 20 year battle with primary progressive multiple sclerosis.

Ken was born to George and Doris Hungle on August 2, 1956, in Regina. He grew up in Holdfast, a small-town farm boy chasing rabbits through the wheat; to loved ones he was their Kenny.

He went on to graduate from the U of S with two degrees, where he met his wife, Christine. Together they had three children: Jason, Adam and Amanda. They built a beautiful family and lived a vibrant life.

Ken was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. A family man and a great neighbour. He was his kids’ coach, gave great advice and guidance, was a man of preparation, Mr. Fix-It, and MacGyver.

Ken began experiencing symptoms of MS in 2004. He travelled the world seeking relief and battled this brutal disease with grace, optimism and unmatched resilience. Not a single time in 20 years did he complain of his circumstances.  All the while continuing to be a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.  He had strong bonds with his grandkids, always up for anything- make believe, dress up or wheelchair rides being some of the favourite activities.

Ken was both a foundation and beacon for his family and those who loved him, he will be greatly missed and forever remembered.

Ken was predeceased by his father, George; and brothers-in-law Kevin, Teddy and Gerry.  He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Christine; sons Jason and Adam (Kristy); daughter Amanda (Katie); grandchildren Alissa, Kyla, Blake, Luke and Devin; mother Doris; sister Marlyn; and sisters-in-law Kathy and Marlyn (Pete).
