Obituary of Doris Joan Patterson
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Doris Patterson on Saturday, January 27, 2024. Doris was a great gardener of plants, people, and life. She gave so much and touched the hearts of many.
Doris is lovingly remembered by her husband Kevin; and daughters Kayley (Kurt) and Taylor. She is also survived by her siblings; numerous nieces and nephews; and countless lifelong friends. She was predeceased by her parents Dan and Joan; sister Lois; and sister-in-law Barb.
Doris was the youngest of seven children and grew up on a farm in Marengo, SK until the age of eighteen, when she moved to Regina and initially lived with her sister Lois. She met Kevin a year later and they spent 41 wonderful years together. Doris achieved her conservatory in music and taught piano (and life lessons) for many years. Another beloved hobby included (loudly) cheering on the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Doris was a "Mom" to many and spent countless hours offering a listening ear to all who crossed her path. She also loved to feed anyone who came into her home and made sure everyone left with full bellies (and hearts). However, she kept everyone on their toes with her feisty attitude and her strong left hook.
Whether she was known as “Little D”, “Mama Ders”, “No-ah”, or “DoDo”, Doris left a meaningful impact on all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be missed dearly and remembered as a remarkable woman by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospitals of Regina Foundation. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In Loving Memory
Doris Patterson
