Obituary of Ronald John Sigethy

It is with sadness that the family of Ron Sigethy announce his passing on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at the age of 91 years. Ron passed away peacefully at the Pasqua Hospital surrounded by his family. He was predeceased by his daughter Patty; parents Geza and Lena Sigethy; brother Otto Sigethy; Elaine’s parents Jack and Ethel Knoblauch; and sister-in-law Pearl Soloshy. Ron is lovingly remembered by his wife of 67 years, Elaine; son Gregg (Michele) and their family Jared (Amanda) Bowie and Nora, Matt and Nicki; daughter Pam (Darren) and their family Brett, Ally (Ryan) Vivia, and Cale; Patty’s husband (Mark); daughter Jackie (Wes) and their family Jacob, Nathan and Sam; brother Alex; sister Betty Jean, sisters-in-law Kay and Jean; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Ron’s working career was spent in the oil and gas industry starting with TransCanada Pipelines in 1957 followed by 34 years with SaskPower/TransGas and retiring in 1993 from his position as District Manager of Operations.

Ron had numerous hobbies and interests ranging from electronics, cars, golfing, fishing, jamming with his guitar and washtub base, creating, inventing, cottage life and traveling to Texas during the winter months for many years.  If something was broken, it was never thrown out as Ron would fix it.  If he had an idea, he would design and create it.  He especially enjoyed visits from his three little great granddaughters, Bowie, Nora, and Vivia.
