Obituary of Harvey James Erick
Harvey James Erick passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 18, 2024 with his family by his side, ending his struggle with COPD/CHF.
Harvey was born in Estevan, SK on January 27, 1955. Son of John and Adeline (nee Schnell) Erick. He grew up and lived in Regina, SK where he graduated from Miller Comprehensive High School in 1975. Harvey drove semi while working hard to establish the first limousine service in Saskatchewan. His dream was realized in 1976 when he officially began Custom Limousine Service. Harvey took great pride and care in his business and always worked hard to offer the cleanest, safest, smoothest drive to his customers. He owned and operated his business until 2023 when his health forced him to retire.
Harvey always had a passion for cars, hunting, fishing, and camping. His life changed when he adopted his daughter, Paige, who became his pride and joy. After Paige came into his life, Harvey’s primary drive shifted to providing for his family by operating an elite limousine service. Harvey loved to visit with family and friends, making others laugh with his quick wit and unique sense of humor. Even in his final days he did his best to make everyone around him laugh. You always had to be on your game mentally when Harvey was around. He exhibited unrivaled strength, and courage right up to his final breath. Harvey was an inspiration to all who knew him.
Harvey was predeceased by his father John Erick. He is survived by his daughter Paige (Joey Van Dusen) Erick; mother Adeline Erick; siblings, Loretta (Anton) Bonokoski, Maurel Erick (Deb Zick), Brenda Erick (Jim Wilson) and Randy (Tammy) Erick; as well as multiple nieces and nephews, including his godchild Angelica Forrester.
Harvey will be laid to rest with his father John at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery by his immediate family.
Harvey’s family would like to give a special thanks to the following: Deacan Joe Lang for officiating at the internment; the Emergency and 6A staff at the Regina General Hospital for all of their hard work and kindness; Paige and Brenda Erick for the comfort provided to Harvey in his final days; and all the family and friends who visited him in the hospital.
In lieu of flowers please send donations to Hospitals of Regina Foundation
In Loving Memory
