Obituary of Garry George Desrosiers

Garry Desrosiers, age 74, passed away peacefully at the Heritage Home in Lumsden on Monday, January 15, 2024 with his family by his side.

Garry will be remembered by his wife of 52 years, Bernice Lang; three children Terry Lang, Michelle (Tracy) Renkas, Jason (Casey) Lang; grandchildren Melissa (Brendon Flory), Kyle Renkas, Ollie Lang and Howie Lang; great-grandson Liam Flory; sisters Joan, Janine, Sheila (Les), Marj, Gail (Perry) and Laurie (Dean); brother Stan; brother-in-law Ron Larkins; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son in infancy; parents George and Rose Desrosiers; and sister Audrey Larkins.

Garry grew up in Grayson, SK and moved to Lumsden in 1976. To help with family expenses on the farm, Garry took a job with road construction at age 15. This lead to a career of over 35 years building gravel roads with Cummins and Sons Construction. Garry took some time off road construction to haul vehicles all over SK, AB and BC with Bernice.

Adored by his kids and grandkids, Garry was a hard-working, fun loving and kind man. He had a keen sense of humour and enjoyed telling jokes and riddles. Garry loved old trucks and driving the backroads, looking for them. He enjoyed watching wrestling and NASCAR, and trips to Vegas.  Garry will be missed by his large extended family and many friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff of the Heritage Home, who took such good care of him for the last six months.

A Private Family Graveside will be held.
