Obituary of Dean Guthrie

Dean Guthrie passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at the age of 52 years. Dean was predeceased by his father Robert “Bob” Guthrie. Left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory are his mother Coreen; sister Denise (Kevin) Gelsinger and their children; nephews Brayden and Nathan; as well as his extended family and many friends.

Dean was an adventurous soul. He loved exploring nature, camping and fishing. He also had a tremendous love for animals.

In high school, Dean’s love and care for others started to shine once he became a big brother. This was just the beginning of his career of caring.

Dean’s desire to care and help others led him to become an EMS, then onto a paramedic for a number of years. He had to step away from the front line and instead began instructing and facilitating first responders. He was always there when his knowledge and assistance was required.

Unfortunately, as Dean grew older, he struggled with PTSD, which affected his life and contributed to his passing.

At Dean’s request, there will be no funeral service. A family gathering will take place to celebrate his life with us at a later date. In lieu of cards or flowers, please consider a donation to Mental Health Services, Regina Branch.
