Obituary of Rhonda Dawn-Marie Tokar

Rhonda Dawn-Marie Tokar

February 27, 1971 – October 30, 2023

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Rhonda Tokar. Rhonda was predeceased by her maternal grandparents Elsie and George Tokar; mother Darlene Tokar; and her twin brother Robert Tokar; as well as numerous aunts and uncles.  Rhonda is survived by her nephew Kole Tokar; uncles Jack Tokar, Darcy (Susan) Tokar and Stacey (Amanda Lalonde) Tokar; and aunt Marcy Tokar. Rhonda is also survived by her lifelong friend, Carrie Leisle.

Rhonda was born in Thunder Bay, ON and spent much of her childhood residing in Winnipeg, MB, then Regina, SK. As her mother before her, Rhonda was a free spirit who loved to travel. She loved life through her many pursuits of fishing, music, cruises and spending time with her friends and family, while also cheering on the Saskatchewan Roughriders. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.  Our angel no longer walks among us but is now with her mother and her beloved twin brother.

The family would like to express much gratitude to the staff at the Regina General Hospital, STARS Air Ambulance, and the incredible staff at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, SK. The ICU staff not only cared for Rhonda, but also her family. A special thank you to the Organ Donation Team, who made it possible for Rhonda to give the gift of love, hope and life to other families. Our gratitude to this highly skilled team of professionals is endless.

Rhonda’s family would also like to thank our extended family, Cindy Tokar, Dave (Maureen) Todorovich, and Maggi Spooner for their love, support, and guidance during a very difficult time. We are eternally grateful to you.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday November 11, 2023, at the Serbian Club, 2775 Avonhurst Drive, Regina, SK from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. We invite those who loved and treasured Rhonda to join us on this day and request you to bring a pair of socks for Rhonda’s annual ‘Toe Jam’ collection, providing warm socks to those in need during the winter.
