Obituary of Rebecca Henricksen
Rebecca Henricksen
1983 - 2023
Rebecca Henricksen, late of Regina, is off on another adventure. Her family saw her off after a 14 year battle with brain cancer on October 29, 2023.
Left to remember Rebecca are her parents, Don and Rosemary Henricksen; sister, Rachel (Dean) Arrowsmith and Atticus; brother, Philip (Ainsley); and very special friend, Joel Sopp. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Heinz and Melba Henricksen, and Philip and Barbara Betteridge (nee Moore).
Rebecca was always interested in life. She attended school in Estevan and enjoyed almost every sport imaginable, along with her beloved music. After high school, Rebecca was excited to receive a volleyball scholarship to Williston, ND. After two years, she then returned to Regina to complete her chemistry degree.
Rebecca then worked in Estevan for a few of years before deciding she wanted something else, so she moved to Halifax, NS to earn her degree in Architecture. It was there in October 2009, Rebecca was diagnosed to have a brain tumor.
After earning her degree, she started working in Regina, SK with her last job being a designer/planner for the University of Regina. This was a job she absolutely loved, and she worked there until the cancer made it too difficult.
She loved to travel and managed to have many adventures with her friends and family. Her last trip with friends was this September, to San Francisco. On September 10, she also attended a Riders game with family.
One of her dreams was to own her own place. Rebecca eventually bought a condo and redesigned it to suit her own taste (a very proud accomplishment).
A Celebration of Life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at Kings Corner Church of God, 2110 King Street, Regina, SK (corner of 13th Avenue and King Street, parking in the rear.) For those unable to attend, a livestream may be viewed at http://www.facebook.com/kingscornercog
In lieu of cards, PLEASE BRING A PHOTO MEMORY OF YOU AND/OR REBECCA, WITH CAPTION for placement on a wall. Those wishing to pay tribute to Rebecca via a donation in her memory may do so to the Palliative Care Unit - 3A, Pasqua Hospital, 4101 Dewdney Ave., Regina, SK S4T 1A5 or the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada at Braintumour.ca.
