Obituary of Gabe Lagimodiere
It is with broken hearts and great sadness we announce the passing of Gabriel “Gabe” Lagimodiere. A son, a father, a grandpa, an uncle, and a dear friend to everyone who ever crossed paths with him. Gabe passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 with his wife Rosemary by his side.
Gabe (dad, grandpa, Gibs) is remembered and survived by his wife of 40 years, Rosemary; children, his “sweetie” Rachelle (Garnet), and grandchild on the way; his “chunny” Camille (Courtney), grandchildren Lynk and Hope; his “chunny” Ray (Shantel), grandson Elijah; and of course we can’t leave out Karoo, his furry companion of 11 years who never left his side. Gabe is also survived by his two sisters Michele, Gigi (Benoit); brother-in-law Larry; uncle Lionel; nephews Remi, Yves, Alexis and Felix; nieces Vania, Nadine, Krista and Peggy. Gabe also has many great nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. He was predeceased by his parents Lucienne and Gabriel; his mother and father in-law Maudie and Raymond; brother-in-law Renald; and sister in-law Linda.
Gabe was born on October 28, 1953 and grew up in Lorette, MB. In the early 1980s, he moved to Regina where he met his wife, Rosemary, and started his career at SaskTel. In 1987, Gabe and Rosemary started their family where they had three children together. Gabe described himself as a rich man because of his family, he especially loved being surrounded by his grandchildren and lit up whenever they were around. Gabe also had a love for sports, whether it be coaching/watching his kids in soccer, football and softball, or watching Manchester City on the weekends. His hobbies included camping, baseball, bass guitar, racquetball, chess, crib and cooking. Gabe was a wealth of knowledge, always cracking a bad joke, extremely kind and stubborn as hell. He will be so deeply missed.
A special thanks for the love and care provided by Peggy from homecare and Dr. Blignaut.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Regina Humane Society or any animal rescue.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday October 27 at Westminster United Church, 3025 13th Avenue, Regina, SK.
