Obituary of Lyle Arthur George

It is with sadness that the family of Lyle George announce his passing on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at the age of 28 years. Lyle will be lovingly cherished by his loving mother Colleen Goodwill; mother of his children, Desirae Wallace; courageous children, Ezra, Eli and Emaira George; brothers, Leroy (Trudy) and Lyndon; sister, Lakisha; and nieces and nephews, Kaiden, Siena, Greyson, Zay, Zandra, Ellie and Emery. He will be remembered by all the extended family from Ochapowace and Standing Buffalo. Lyle was predeceased by his loving father, Melvin George; and brother, Lewis George.

Lyle was caring, compassionate and resilient. He was a hard worker, who put his family first and Lyle was a very supportive and considerate man. He would often put the needs of others above his own. Although he didn’t have the chance to grow up on Ochapowace, he often spoke about coming home and reclaiming his culture and identity.

Wake will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at Chief Denton George Memorial Multiplex, Ochapowace Nation, Saskatchewan. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at the same location with interment to follow at Ochapowace Nation Cemetery.
