Weikum, Gerald James
“Jim”
1936 - 2023

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Gerald James Weikum, also known as Jim, after a battle with cancer.

Jim was born on July 23, 1936, and passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at the age of 87 with his family by his side.

Jim was born on the family farm in the RM of Qu’appelle. He started farming with his dad before marrying the love of his life, Carlyn in April of 1962, when he also started his passion for dairy farming. Jim retired to Indian Head where he enjoyed gardening, fishing, golfing, playing cards and visiting with family and friends. Jim loved his family very much, as well as their family gatherings and watching his grandson’s sporting events.

We would like to extend a special thanks to Bengough Home Care and the Long-Term staff and nurses for all their compassion and the wonderful care they provided for Jim and his family. Thank you and bless you all.

Gerald James Weikum of Indian Head (Ogema) was predeceased by his infant daughter Brenda; parents John and Whilma Weikum; parents-in-law Emile and Yvonne DeVocht; siblings Eleanor (Allan) Pletz, Leonard Weikum and Bob Weikum; sister-in-law Judy Weikum; and nephews Dion and Rodney Weikum. Jim will be lovingly cherished by his wife, Carlyn; children Randy Weikum, John (Sheila) Weikum and Donna (Kelly) Chibi; grandchildren Tyler (Shyla, Easton, Emmett) Weikum, Adam (Michelle, Griffin) Weikum, Dryden (Alexis) Mead, Shyla Weikum, and Brett (Jasmin, Kayson) Mead; siblings Doreen (Leon) Breton, John Weikum; siblings-in-law Sheila Weikum, Alex (Anne) Devocht and Judy (Don) Janiskevich; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service has yet to be decided. Family and friends are invited to leave tributes and/or donations to where they seem fit.
