Obituary of Cynthia Foote

On Monday, June 19, 2023, we lost the love of our lives - a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, auntie, cousin and friend after her courageous journey with breast cancer.

A lover of the simplest things in life, Cindy was happiest when she was with her family; her soulmate and husband of nearly 40 years, Howard; her children, whom she was so proud of, Alison, Carly and Kristin; and her sons-in-law Bryden, Trevor, and Luke, who she loved like her own. Cindy’s greatest joys were her grandchildren Madden, Livie, Kingston, Roz, Scottie and Crew, with whom she spent endless hours making magical memories with.

Cindy is survived by her father Arthur Estabrooks; siblings Jill Euteneier, Susan (Jim) Mahoney and Jeff Estabrooks; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, the “Foote Crew” and friends, new and old. She is predeceased by her mother, Mary Lou Estabrooks, who is sure to have planned a big reunion in the sky for her!

A true entertainer, Cindy loved hosting her friends and family for meals and memorable “dance parties” filled with the best music, food and margaritas! She made everyone feel welcomed and accepted which was evident as we witnessed the outpouring of love and admiration for her near the end of her life.

Our family was fortunate enough to vacation together in Puerto Vallarta in April, one of Cindy’s favourite places to visit. She was surrounded by her grandchildren on the beach and made sure to let us all know how grateful she was to be there with us. This was something she always told us and made us feel, even before her diagnosis.

Our lives are truly that much richer and more precious to have known a love like hers.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Broadway United Church. If you feel so inclined, we encourage you to enter a team and raise money for the CIBC Run for the Cure, with donations going directly to Breast Cancer research in Canada.
