In loving memory of our Cathy Lynn Blacksioux

Cathy was born on March 26, 1985, and passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 in Calgary, AB. She joins her grandparents, Lloyd Desjarlais Sr., Louis and Gladys Blacksioux and Elmer “Mike” George; sister Tristan Blacksioux; brother Sheldon Blacksioux; aunts Glenda Desjarlais, Gail Desjarlais, Shelly Desjarlais-Ware; uncles Michael Desjarlais, Matthew Desjarlais, Sheldon Desjarlais, Ralph Blacksioux, Dewayne Ware and Shane George.

Cathy’s memory will be cherished by her children Laurel Blacksioux-Lerat, May Rose Blacksioux and Carter Buffalocalf; father Eugene Blacksioux (Maxine); mother Rosie Desjarlais; aunty/mom Lorraine Desjarlais; sisters Tara Blacksioux, Niomi Blacksioux, Christina Clark and Melenie Choken; brother Andrew Blacksioux; grandparents May Desjarlais-George, and Robert and Karen George; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and by all that knew and loved Cathy.

Our Cathy was beautiful, out-going friendly and so humorous. She’s going to be missed.

Wake will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2023at Piapot Band Hall, Piapot First Nation, SK with Elder Jake Stonechild and Joanne and Bernard Jack Officiating. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at the same location. Sweetgrass only, and scent fee please. Cathy will be laid to rest at the Desjarlais Family Cemetery, Piapot First Nation, SK
