Obituary of Alan Roy Prizeman
It is with broken hearts that Alan Prizeman’s family wish to share the news of his peaceful passing on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at the age of 71 from complications of COVID.
Al is forever remembered by his loving wife of 49 years Linda; children Angie (Pat) Lott, Lisa Prizeman and Chris (April) Prizeman; grandchildren Alexa, Taylor (Klinton) Pethick, Brooklyn and Rylan Lott, Kurtis and Erik Ferguson, and Lucas and Jacob Prizeman; great-granddaughter Olivia; brother Jim (Audrey) Prizeman; as well as close cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends who became family. He was predeceased by his parents, Jean and Roy Prizeman; and his brother Wayne.
Dad’s favorite things were a coffee and a smoke, Mopars and muscle cars, dogs, a card game and rum and coke.
From 1972-2005, Dad achieved his dream of becoming a firefighter with the City of Regina. Al’s retirement was spent helping friends, relaxing in Arizona, reading country western novels and building a legacy home with his kids at Pelican Pointe.
It was said of dad that “if you made friends with Al you had a friend for life.” He collected these friends wherever life took him, whether it be through childhood, the brotherhood of the RFD, car shows, or winters in Arizona.
The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff on MSU and Palliative Care. Special thanks to Dr. Ish Sundar and Dr. Baumann for their compassionate care.
Bring your best car, wear your cleanest jeans and join us for a come-and-go Celebration of Al’s Life taking place from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 25, 2023 at the Serbian Club, 2775 Avonhurst Drive, Regina, SK. Bring your best “Al “stories we’d love to hear them.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Regina Palliative Care Unit, 3A- Dewdney Avenue Regina, Saskatchewan.
“There are special people in our lives that never leave us, even after they are gone.” -D.Morgan
