On Tuesday, April 25, 2023, Dean passed away suddenly at the age of 44 years.

Dean will be truly missed by his only son Nathaniel (DJ); mother Marjorie Kenny; brothers Michael and Sheldon Hunter; sisters Sheila, Tracy (Wes) and Lisa; special nieces Heavenly, Nia, Nataliya and Aaliyah;  aunts and uncles Maureen Wasacase, Nora Wasacase, Louis (Bev) Kenny, George Cyr, Mary (Ellis) Ramstead and Colin Wasacase; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, along with his extended family. He was predeceased by his father Steven Wasacase; grandparents Kenneth Shesheep and Lucy Kenny (nee Chapican), and Jacob and Mina Wasacase; brothers Jeffery Dale Kenny, Steven Kenny and Hubert Taypotat; aunties Bernice Kenny, Pearl Jack and Yvonne Cyr; uncles Phillip Kenny, Reuben Wasacase and George Wasacase; special uncles Leo (Marlene) Kenny and Albert (Bud) Wasacase; and special cousin Jeffery Kenny.

Wake will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at Chief Denton George Memorial Complex, Ochapowace First Nation.Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at the same location. Interment will follow at the Kahkewistahaw Cemetery.
