Obituary of Roland Longpre
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our brother, Roland Longpre (known as Joseph in Mexico). Roland passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 with family by his side at the age of 69.
Roland is survived by his siblings Jim Longpre, Maurice Longpre, Leona (Bruce) Baun, Cyril Longpre, Rodney Spencer and Sherry Langston; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Don and Bernie Spencer; and sister Aline.
Roland was born in Regina and raised on the family farm at McLean. He made his home in Puerto Aventuras, Mexico in winter. Roland cared deeply about his family and many friends.
Roland was known for his generosity and always giving to others. He had many great life experiences and stories. Roland had a strong faith and would spread God’s word to many, including two pilgrimages to Israel.
Roland’s independence and adventurous spirit lead him to make his career as a Power Lineman for 35+ years in Canada and the U.S.A. His work took him to many places around the world. Roland was especially proud of building towers in Africa and his Public Power Lineworkers Rodeo titles in the U.S.A. .
