Frank and I offer our sincere and heartfelt condolences to you Dorothy. I met Dorothy when she came to teach at George Lee Elementary School and through her met her Best Man Nick. We had such wonderful times at their house where they entertained the staff so often. We would meet at their house in the back yard for year end get togethers. Nick was so proud of his gardens and they reflected peace and solitude. They were beautiful. Then there was Christmas and we were alway in awe of his beautifully decorated Christmas tree. Every ball, every ornament, every light placed with pride and love. He was always smiling, always with a hug, always so welcoming and had the biggest heart. Nick you were one of a kind and you will be so missed.

I met Nick in 2010 while working at the Co-op refinery, he was always willing to help, provide guidance or mentor you.
Nick would always have a joke to tell, had a great sense of humour.
I'm glad to have met a great man.

We will remember Nick for the wonderful man he was. Gord met Nick at the Co-Op Refinery back in the early 2000’s working on projects together. From there our friendship grew as we spent time with him and Dorothy over many Christmas visits to their home, walkabouts in their beautiful backyard in the summertime, and attending our Roughrider parties in our own backyard. Nick was always the photographer taking amazing pictures of our event without asking and then dropping off dozens of pictures in our mailbox. We had many “friendly” chats about his beloved Blue Bombers and the rivalry each football season. Our sincere sympathies to his entire family - he was one in a million. xx

In life you are lucky to meet some amazing individuals and Nick was one of the best, a salt of the earth type of guy. We were able to share some amazing adventures in remote locations when working on files in BC. It was an absolute pleasure and honour to have been able to spend time with him over the years. He will truly be missed.

My longtime friend, Nick, was one in a million. He was such a generous man, enjoyed little out of town adventures, whether poking through interesting curio shops in a heritage home, soaking in the great Ukrainian history at a museum, or marvelling at the beauty of spring's first crocus, while his camera snapped away. Yes, taking pictures was one of Nick's many passions.
I am going to miss you so very much, my friend. Your stories, your dry humour, your hospitality. ("Would you like a drop of Mother's Milk?"- that would be Baileys.) I'm so lucky to have known you. Lots of love. Fly high. XO

I met Nick in 2003 when we were on site at the Co-op Refinery Section 4 construction site. Nick was always smiling and laughing when we would run into each other. We would have a quick work conversation and then shoot the breeze for a while and laugh some more! He introduced me to his son Steve and we also became friends and coworkers in the years to come.
Awesome guy Nick. You will always be remembered.
