It is with profound sadness the family of Delores Maierhoffer announce her passing on Tuesday, March 21, 2023.

Delores is survived by her loving children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren:  Mona Maierhoffer;  Tom (Rose), Janell (Chris) Carson and Jaxson Bellamy; Carla (Tony) Amaya, Matteo, Ciara and Makai Wade; Melanie (Mike) Bailey Kline; Gregory (Destiny) Maierhoffer; and Jonathan Maierhoffer;  Barry (Karen Holfeld) Jenna and Julia Maierhoffer; Pam (Nick), Amber (Dale) Aryon and Bodhi Salzsauler; Rory, Jake and Eli Gayton;  Autumn Gayton (Evan Boychuk); Joe (Shelly), Nicole (Jared) Olivia and Charlotte Burd; Chris Maierhoffer (Kate Morrison) Karl Maierson; and Jordan Maierhoffer along with numerous relatives and friends.  She was predeceased by her husband Karl; son Gregory; parents Lucy and Zachary East; sisters Lorraine and Dorothy; and brothers William, Gordon, Jim, Tom, and Jack.

Mom loved her family.  She loved the noise of her crowded house when we were all celebrating Christmas, a birthday, or if some of us just dropped in for a visit.  She loved the laughter of the grandkids, and great grandkids.  She always had room, she always had coffee and tea, she always had food, and she always had homemade dessert - no matter who it was or how many of us showed up!  She loved telling stories about her growing up in the old days, the hard times on the farm in the thirties, and then meeting Dad and having their family.  We loved hearing those stories.  Her grandkids were fortunate enough to get to hear some of those stories too.  Her memory was perfect.

Mom was the most kind, generous, and trusting person you could ever meet.  She found good in everyone, and everyone loved her.  She taught us, and truly believed in the golden rule.

We will miss her and love her always but take comfort knowing she is with Dad and Gregory.

A special thanks to the Nurses and Doctors on 5E at the General Hospital.  Your compassion and care during Mom’s stay was deeply appreciated.  Also, thanks to the staff of William Albert Care Home for looking after Mom and Mona. 

Funeral Mass to celebrate Delores’ life will be held 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Holy Cross Parish, 315 Douglas Avenue East, Regina, SK. For those not able to attend, a livestream may be viewed at https://youtube.com/live/XTrysZlw9OI?feature=share.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cosmopolitan Learning Center.
