Obituary of Esther Evelyn Wirth

Our wonderful mother passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, January 28, 2023. She is now with her Lord and Savior and reunited with Dad.

Mom was born and raised on a small family farm in the Neudorf, Saskatchewan area. That is where she met our Dad, Ted, the love of her life. They were married on June 15, 1947 and after trying their hand at farming for a few years they relocated to Regina in May 1953. They remained in Regina their entire lives and raised seven children in their loving home.

Mom was predeceased by her beloved husband Ted in 2004; her parents Emil and Barbara Krahenbil; son-in-law John; her siblings and numerous in-laws. She is survived by her children Connie, Lorne (Trina), Bruce (Ann), Brian, Wendy (Bob), Mark and Shelley (Darren) as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, to whom she was affectionately known as Granny. 

Mom was devoted to her family and her faith. She was a “stay at home Mom” which was no easy task when raising seven children. Her faith was very important to her, and she passed that faith on to her children and grandchildren. She made certain that all her children and grandchildren were baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

Due to the pandemic the last two and half years were extremely difficult for her. Mom could no longer attend Church every Sunday as she had done her entire life however, she never missed a broadcast of the Lutheran Hour on Sunday mornings. With the help of her children, Mom was able to remain in her home until she was admitted to the hospital on December 30, 2022.

The family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude for the excellent care she received at both the Pasqua Hospital and Grace Hospice at William Booth Care Home.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 3, 2023 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 3825 Hillsdale Street, Regina, SK.   The service will be livestreamed, and can be viewed at: https://fb.me/e/3g7vY7BZ5

Mom will be laid to rest alongside her husband Ted in Regina Memorial Gardens.   A private family interment will take place.  Donations in Mom’s memory may  be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church or Lutheran Hour Ministries.
