Flora Miller

Obituary of Flora Dorothea Miller

Please share a memory of Flora to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother in her 95th year.

Flora was born and raised on her parents farm in the Southey district. She later met, then married Louie Miller on a blizzardy Boxing Day in 1948. Together they worked their farm south of Earl Grey and raised their two children. In 1998, after 50 years of farming, Louie and Flora retired and moved to Regina to be near their family.

Flora is survived by her son, Lyle Miller of Regina; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and John Biggin of Regina; grandson, Steven Biggin and his wife Katrina; and two great-granddaughters, Maiz and Vallah Biggin all of Nova Scotia. She is also survived by her two sisters, Minnie Wagner and Bernice Wilde of Regina; and sister-in-law Connie Siebert of Southey; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. Flora was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Louie Miller; grandson, Geoffrey Biggin; parents Paul and Annie Siebert; sister Isabelle Schmidt; and three brothers, Max, Calvin, and Erwin Siebert.

Flora was a very talented knitter and crocheter, winning first place ribbons at the Regina Exhibition with her delicate hand work. She could follow the most complicated patterns to produce pieces which she made sure were perfect! Flora enjoyed playing cards with friends and family, playing bingo, watching Blue Jays baseball, and watching championship curling.

We would like to thank the many friends and family who enriched Mom’s life. We know how much she valued the time spent with each of you. Also, a very special thank you to Christina and the care team at J & C Personal Care Home, and the nursing staff at the Pasqua Hospital MSU for the kindness and exceptional care they provided to Mom during her last days.

A Celebration Flora’s life will be held at a later date.
