Obituary of Ray Carswell
Ray Carswell went to his heavenly home on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at the age of 87.
Ray is lovingly remembered by Marjorie, his wife of 64 years; children, Murray (Katherine) Carswell, Larry (Jayne) Carswell, and Shannon (David) Stevenson; grandchildren, Patrick (Brittany) Carswell, Kayla (Corey) Raichuk, Brian Carswell, and Karli (Michael) Landry; and great-grandchildren, Emory, Livia, and Silas Landry. He was predeceased by his infant grandson Adam Carswell; parents, Cliff and Roberta Carswell; andbrothers Jim Carswell and Lloyd Carswell.
Following his graduation from high school in Moosomin, SK, Ray began his career at SaskTel where he was employed for 35 years. He was blessed to enjoy 34 full years of retirement.
Ray and Marjorie were faithful attendees at Regina Apostolic Church for over 40 years, and their children and grandchildren have also followed in their footsteps of faith.
Ray’s family’s well-being was always his priority. His care and concern and his generosity to all his family was very evident.
Summers for the family were spent at their cabin at Kedleston Gospel Camp where Ray and Marjorie “Nana and Papa” would entertain the grandkids for days on end. Papa loved to “putter” on the cabin and his tireless work made for a wonderful place. They also cherished the friendships they made with their neighbours at the lake.
Ray and Marjorie enjoyed many wonderful trips over the years with family and close friends. Mexico, Hawaii, Texas, and Florida just to name a few.
As per Ray’s wishes, the family will be gathering for a Private Graveside Service at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, where Rev. Llewellyn Janzen and Brian Carswell (Ray’s grandson) will officiate.
Donations in Ray’s memory may be made to Kedleston Gospel Camp at kedlestongospelcamp.com.
In Loving Memory
Ray Carswell
