Obituary of June Erma Wright

Remembering June, our “Ray of Sunshine.”

It is with deep sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of June Erma Wright on Friday, January 6, 2023 at the age of 93 years.

June was born in Richardson, SK to Ula and Herbert Burgess. At the age of 15 years, June left her family home and moved to Regina to continue her education. She successfully juggled her careers along with her family life, raising two daughters. June was a devoted wife and best friend to Cecil who passed away 37 years ago.

June enjoyed her church family, music, volunteering, having coffee with friends and many visits with family that always ended with a hug, a smile and “I love you”.

June’s family was of most importance to her. She cherished her role as Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma. Her life was blessed with many wonderful things…. But, what she was most proud of was her six special grandchildren Melissa, Chelsea, Kayla, Courtney, Brittany and Landon as well as the blessing of her 12 great-grandchildren!

June had a smile that would light up any room. To know her was to love her. June died as she lived, everyone’s friend.
June will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Bonnie (Tony) and Sharon (Ted); her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

We are so thankful for the care she received by Dr Llewelyn-Williams, as well as the love and care she received from her second family at Joyti Care Home.

In honour of June’s wishes, we have planned a private family funeral.
