Obituary of Mary Faure
Mary Faure passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Parkside Extendicare in Regina, SK at the age of 96.
Mary was born on September 12, 1926 in Kelliher, SK. She grew up on a dairy farm, where she attended Kelliher School and completed grade 11. Mary then took a business course in Regina and returned to Kelliher to work in the Bank of Montreal. Mary met Irvin in Kelliher and they were married for 48 years.
Mary will be fondly remembered by many people in Raymore where she directed the United Church choir, taught piano lessons and played for many community events. In 1968, they moved to Saskatoon where Mary continued to teach piano and sang in the St Martins choir. Mary and Irvin travelled through Canada, USA, including Alaska and Hawaii, and Europe. They wintered in Las Vegas for several years at Thousand Trails camping system.
In 2001, Mary moved to Regina and lived in Hewitt Place until 2016, when she moved into Mutchmor Lodge. She volunteered there playing for church services, variety shows and taught line dancing to a great group of ladies. Mary thought Mutchmor was the best hotel she ever stayed in and the staff were wonderful.
Mary is survived by her children Laura (Allan), Keith (Carrie), Leanne (Bob), Douglas (Bev), Sandra (Terry), and Ross (Barb); 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandaughter; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Irvin; parents Richard and Mary Hetherington; and siblings Margaret (Walter), Andrew (Theresa), Richard, Thomas (Mary), Jack, Douglas and Robert.
Thank you to the staff of North Wing at Parkside Extendicare for the excellent, compassionate care for mom during the last several weeks.
There will be a memorial service planned for July of 2023.
In Loving Memory
Mary Faure
