Obituary of Geraldine Elizabeth Unger

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Geraldine Unger on Friday, September 23, 2022. Geraldine left this world on the day she entered it - her birthday.

She was predeceased by her loving husband Gordon “Butch”; son Darel; parents Katherine and Roy Godlien; siblings Chrissy, Donny and Jean; and son-in-law Victor.

Geraldine will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Valerie, Charmaine, Wendy (Don), Shannon (Dean) and Laurie; siblings Arty (Sharon), Kenny (Mary Anne), Neil (Elaine), Patsy (Bobby) and Lorne (Heather); as well as her grandchildren Jason (Danielle), Jamie (Lyndon), Jason (Mandi), Renee, Shelyce (Eric), Chelsey (Andy), Chantay (Brian), Amber, Jordy, Lindsey (Andrew), Dustin (Kristyn), Kaylene (Will) and Mike. Geraldine will also be remembered by her great-grandchildren Olivia, Alexa, Danica, Lucas, Noah, Ethan, Emily, Nova, Maryn, Renley, Remy, Atlas, Peyton and Rowan.

Geraldine and Butch called Laird, SK home for many years. They made countless memories and built life-long friendships during their time there. In the mid 2000’s, they moved to Regina to be closer to their family.

Geraldine loved spending her time watching bull riding, game shows and listening to polka with Butch.  She loved her card games and could beat anyone in a game of cribbage. Most importantly, she enjoyed her daily coffee visits with her family and friends.

She always had a smile on her face, no matter the situation and she had the most contagious laugh. She was the most loving and caring Mother, grandmother, aunty and friend. We have all been so lucky to have spent 87 years with such a beautiful soul. She will be missed beyond measure.

At Geraldine’s request, a private family gathering will be held at a later date. We would like to thank Paragon for helping our family with her service arrangements.
