Obituary of Barbara Anne Webb

WEBB, Barbara Anne

Barbara Anne Webb (nee Logan) passed away peacefully at St. Paul’s Lutheran Home in Melville, SK on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at the age of 78. Born in Victoria, B.C. and raised on a farm in the Bounty, SK area, she met and eventually married Mervyn Webb in Calgary in 1964.  After starting a family there, they eventually settled in Saskatoon, SK, in 1976.

Barb’s passion was helping others. She was a foster parent for over 25 years. She lovingly cared for many, many children of all ages and needs as they were her own. Barb continued to remain connected to many foster children well after retiring from that role. She was active in her faith community and known as a gentle, loving woman who cared deeply for others. She loved to garden and took pride in her beautiful yard of flowers. Barb was an excellent baker and loved to share food with family and friends.

Barb and Merv fulfilled a lifetime dream of living on an acreage when moving to Ontario in 2008. She thoroughly enjoyed the nature and community of country living. Barb was a two-time cancer survivor.  Her faith and consistently positive outlook were key in her recovery. Barb always encouraged others to stay positive, “eat a piece of fruit” and laugh.

Barb was predeceased by her husband Mervyn in 2016; brother Edgar in 1994; father William in 1956; and mother Noreen in 1991.

Barb is lovingly remembered by her family: Trevor and his children, Janine and daughter Avory, Jessica (Josh) and children Tayah and Rowan, Clayton, and Emily (Gab) and son Mason; Graham (Carla) and sons Isaac and Tennyson; Les (Julie) and daughters Gillian and Myra; sisters Marilyn, Shirley (Jim), and Irene; as well as many nieces, nephews, and foster children.

Memorial donations in Barbara’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 16, 2022 at Broadway United Church. For those unable attend, a livestream may be viewed at:
