Obituary of Teddy James Durston

Teddy James Durston, beloved son of Levi and Shaylee Durston and little brother to Chip, passed into the loving arms of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ during delivery at 10:43 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at the Regina General Hospital. His memory will be forever cherished by his parents Levi and Shaylee; big brother Chip of Sedley; grandparents Daniel and Taryn Broussard of Regina, and Jerry and Sharon Durston of Sedley; great-grandparents Melba Durston of Regina, Kevin and Jeannine Broussard of Antigonish, NS, Irvin Spurr of Brickton, NS, and “Step-Great Grandpa Dirt Bike” Andrew Berry of Wilmot, NS; aunts and uncles Bryden (Andra) Broussard, Felicya Broussard, Paige Broussard, Sheena (Jeremy) Johnsrude, and Shea (Sharlyn) Durston, all of Regina, Tyler (Kristen) Durston of Francis, Danae (Dallas) Evans of Kelowna, BC, and Luke Durston of Sedley, as well as his fourteen cousins. Teddy was pre-deceased by his great-grandparents Vaughan Durston, Arne and Bessie Wester, and Pansy Newell.

It has been said that the impact of a life is not measured by its duration. Teddy’s life and story have affected us all in profound ways. From the joy of the discovery of his life in the womb to deep sorrow when he was diagnosed with anencephaly, all culminating in his delivery into the everlasting arms of Jesus, God has poured out His grace and mercy on our family. He alone is worthy of our praise. “But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning: great is Your faithfulness.” (Lamentations 3:21-23 ESV).

A Private Family Viewing will be held. We invite friends and family to join us for a service of worship and celebration in honour of Teddy’s life at 2:00 p.m. CST on Sunday, August 14, 2022, at Heritage Alliance Church, 3575 Hillsdale Street, Regina, SK, with Pastor Shea Durston officiating. The service will be livestreamed at ourheritage.ca. Contact a family member if you would like to view the service at a later time. A private interment will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery near Sedley, SK.

We would like to thank the competent medical staff who cared for us with compassion and respect, the countless friends, family, and even strangers who upheld us with your love and prayers throughout this difficult journey, and especially our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us. Because of Him, we know we will see Teddy again. We eagerly await the day when we are re-united with Teddy in our heavenly home.
