I had the pleasure of meeting Shirley in 2008, when I moved to Regina from Ontario. I moved to Regina not knowing a single soul, and things were a bit tough. Duncan (Anton), Shirley and I developed some special kind of bond, and they took me in just like family. I will always hold that very close to heart.
I grew stronger with Shirley through the years after Duncan's passing in 2011.
Shirley was a very intelligent lady, with so much advice and many great words of wisdom to offer. If there was anyone I could count on, it was always Grandma Shirley.
Grandma Shirley was ALWAYS there for me.
As I sit here alone, I cry from sadness and I cry from happiness. To think back of all the times we've had, I feel so lucky and blessed, that Shirley came into my life.
We are not related through blood, but we had a special bond, as if we are. And because of that, Shirley will always be 'Grandma Shirley' ♥️
