Obituary of Melvin Norman Porter

Mel passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, July 13, 2022. He was born in Regina to Phyllis and Dennis Porter. Mel is survived by his children: Denise Porter (Lionel) of Regina, Mark Porter (Karen) of Wainwright, AB, Farellyn Porter of Regina and Sabrina Porter (Steve) of Pilot Butte. He is also survived by grandchildren Alanna (Thomas), Porter (Briggette), Cheyenne, Austin, Cole, Carter and Cooper; along with great-grandchildren Elijah and Bentley. Mel is also survived by siblings: Carolyn Russon (Leo), Kay Faye (Patty), Louise Goulet (Ken) and Wendy Cowan (Mel). He was predeceased by his wife, Ferne; and his loyal companion “Luna” (his border collie). A private interment for family and close friends will be held at a later date.
