Obituary of Charlotte Syrota

Charlotte “Shirley” Syrota It is with great sadness the family of Charlotte Syrota announces her peaceful passing at the age of 82 on Thursday, June 23, 2016. She was predeceased by her husband Alex, parents Peter and Pauline Zarazun and sister Sylvia. Charlotte will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Sonia (Wayne) Webb and Arlene Syrota (Don Hewitt) of Regina; grandsons Murray Webb (Janelle Haas), Evan and Paul Hewitt, brother Glen Zarazun (Florence), sisters Bernice Myskiw (Bill) and Nady Mushumanski (Elmer), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Charlotte was born in Preeceville, SK. She and Alex farmed in the Hyas area for 40 years, later retiring to Canora, Yorkton, and then Regina. Shirley’s hands were never idle as she enjoyed cooking, sewing, and gardening. She was a lifelong member of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. She valued the importance of family, faith, and hard work. Charlotte was a beautiful, generous and loving wife, mother and baba. Her family and everyone who knew her, loved and respected her for her kind, patient and caring nature. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Descent of the Holy Spirit Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 1305 – 12th Ave., Regina, SK with Rev. Fr. Michael Maranchuk officiating. Interment to follow at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, Regina.
