Obituary of Elaine Sigrid Hutchison

On Saturday, April 16, 2022, Elaine, late of Regina, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones at the age of 84.  She was predeceased by her husband John “Jack” Hutchison; parents Leif and Jean Ruden; twin sister Eileen Johnson; brother-in-law Garnis Johnson; daughters-in-law Carmela Hutchison and Melody Thomas; and nephew Neil Johnson.

Elaine is survived and will be greatly missed by her children Bob, John (Barb), Lynne (Mel), Doug (Tammy) and Wendy; grandchildren Craig (Cindy), Candis (Terry), Kyle (Jessica) and Kurt (Felicia); step-grandchildren Tyler (Tikka) and Amanda (George); great-grandchildren Bailey, Peighton, Ryker, Adelyn and Aubree; step-great-grandchildren Odin, Maverick, Alexis and Gabriel as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins friends and many other children she took under her wing.

Elaine was born in Tourbrose, SK, growing up with family in Kyle, SK.   She then moved to Regina where she lived, raised her family and worked as nurse for her entire career.  Elaine was a natural caregiver, always putting her family and friends first.  She loved her career as a nurse, and she continued nursing until the age of 78.  She will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew her.  Honouring Elaine’s request, a private family service was held. 

 

You held our hands when we were small, you caught us when we fell,
The hero of our childhood, and the latter years as well.
Every time we think of you, our hearts just fill with pride…
And although we’ll always miss you, we know you’re by our side,

In laughter and in sorrow, in the sunshine and the rain…
We know you’re watching over us until we meet again…
