Obituary of Harold Rodney Lavallee
Harold Lavallee (Wīhkaskw Kānihk Kanīpawit – Standing in the Sweetgrass) passed away peacefully Sunday, July 3, 2022 at the age of 67.
Harold is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Linda ; sons Ryan “Sam”, Jeremy (Laurie), Alwyn, Tyler, and Timothy (Celine); daughters Christina, Jade (Christina), Cree (Tim), and Octavious; 22 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; siblings Sandy (Dennis), Colleen, and Jason (Pam); mom Lena Tanner; all of his in-laws Yvonne, Mary (Murray), Bobby (Eleanor), Pat (Steve), Michael (Tina), and Patrick. He was predeceased by his sons Wilton and Greg; daughter Heather; grandson Kelton; father Walter Lavallee; mother Beatrice Stonechild; paternal grandparents Gabriel and Eugenie Lavallee; great-grandparents Joe and Mabel Whitestar; brother Lyle; aunt Beatrice; and niece April.
Harold also leaves a number of special young people who adopted him, or he adopted: Debbie, Donna, Marcel, Shelley, Braydon, Shannon, Alana, Aihlayna, Jamie, Savanna, Cree, Leelyn, Al, Tony and Nicholas; and others as relatives; Mary Ruth St. Pierre, Isabel Keepness, Ish Heavy, Wynnona Morisson, Emma Mantee, Rodger Ross, Brian Crowe, Alvin Kaye, Kenneth “Tuffy” Helgeson, Delane LaMere, Eugene Weasel, Dwayne Noname, and Rena Whitestar.
A Traditional Wake will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at Piapot Community Hall, Piapot First Nation with a Traditional Funeral Service taking place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at Piapot Community Hall with Elders officiating.
