Obituary of Evelyn Pearl Smith

Heaven has gained one of the sweetest angels ever. It is with broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beautiful Mother, Evelyn Pearl Smith (nee Cook) at the age of 85 on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, with her family by her side.

Evelyn is survived by two sisters, Muriel and Millie. She will be dearly missed by her five children, Debbie (Frank), Wendy, Kevin, Michael and Stephen (Dawn). She was predeceased by her husband of 15 years, Bud Smith; and her partner of seven years, Grant McDonald. Evelyn was also predeceased by three brothers and five sisters.

Affectionately known as, “Grandma Red”, she leaves behind her adoring grandchildren, Neaqeah, Saffron (Talenn), Garik (Christa), Haley (Alex); and one great-grandchild, Iverson. There are countless nieces and nephews who will also cherish memories of their aunt.

Evelyn was kind, generous, and a loving mom. She was positively tireless and always there to help anyone in any way she could. Music and time with friends brought Mom a lifetime of joy; she would be the first one up to dance or sing a song.
