Obituary of Donald Reid

Donald Reid Don passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at the age of 77 years. Don is survived by Helen, his loving wife of 44 years; son Colin (Maeven) and grandson Daxton; son Devin (Naomi) and grandson Isaac; sister-in-law Janet Kimberley; brother-in-law Gordon Ruschiensky (Maureen McCurdy); numerous nieces and nephews including special niece Lisa Williams and her husband Mal. He was predeceased by his parents Sinclair and Grace Reid and sister Doreen Reid. Don was a hardworking man who worked in the printing business most of his career. He was a quiet, gentle and kind man who would always help others when he was able. His wife, children, grandchildren and his extended family, Gary & Lil Hill and family, Orval (deceased) and Milda Rennie and family were his life. For the past 36 years, his favorite place to be was at his summer home at Crooked Lake with his friends and family. The family would like to thank the staff at SICU at the General Hospital for their exceptional care. At Don’s request, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Don’s memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to a charity of choice.
