Obituary of Wayne Ellsworth Stenson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wayne Stenson at the age of 77 years on May 9, 2022. Wayne bravely fought a number of conditions which weakened him, and eventually succumbed to encephalitis. He was predeceased by his parents, Dolly and Norris; brother Dennis; nephew Michael; and brother-in-law Dennis Wilson. Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Ellen (nee Stevenson). He is also survived by his brother Glenn (Margaret); and sister Louise; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was born in Frontier, SK and became a truck driver in his father's trucking company with haul predominately in western Canada and the U.S. Wayne’s interesting and varied life saw him practice barbering, work in mining, delivery service, work at Alcan in Kitimat, and eventually train and practice as an addictions councillor. Wayne and Ellen loved to travel and had many holidays, often including Ellen's and/or Wayne's family members.

Wayne loved life and was a genuine caring participant. He had a multitude of friends and associates and family members who will miss him dearly. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed a good prank. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1909 Ottawa Street, Regina, SK, with a luncheon and then interment at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery to follow.
