Eleanor, the youngest child to Martin and Leona, was born September 30, 1930 at Wilkie, SK. She had fond memories of growing up on the farm despite that it was during the Great Depression. Eleanor attended high school at the Leipzig Convent and attended Teacher's College in Saskatoon in 1947, fulfilling her life's dream of becoming a teacher. Eleanor held her first teaching position at Sunny Glen School, a one room school house near Unity, SK, followed by a position at St. Lucia (Tramping Lake).

Eleanor met the love of her life, Ralph Neigum, at the age of 20. They were married July 24, 1951, and together they would raise their family of nine children. Eleanor will be lovingly remembered as a deeply dedicated and loving wife and mother who passionately cared for her family, her church, and her community. She gave selflessly of her many talents throughout her life. Eleanor served 24 years in the Holy Cross Church choir as a soprano vocalist, and later as organist and choir director. She played piano for the Happy Daze singing group, who regularly entertained at many local senior’s homes. Most recently, Eleanor played piano for the residents at Green Falls Landing Retirement Home, where she lived, every Monday afternoon right up until just a few months before her passing. She was also a very talented seamstress, knitter and baker, and produced countless creations of love for her family and community.

Eleanor's family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Green Falls Landing Retirement Home and Grace Hospice for their tender care of our Mom and Grandma in her final months.
