Miles, I met you 30 years ago when we were young and we met again 22 years later. Many things had changed in our lives but we still had friendship from the decades past. I wanted to help you with your struggle by getting you interested in art - transforming barnboard and other cool old stuff on your farm into sellable vintage goods - and starting a respectable small business in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. It was fun to visit back and forth over that year and a half - we had lots of laughs and that Papakash Chicken you cooked was delicious. Your farm was a serene and beautiful place to stay and you were a wonderful host.
Sadly, as your sister has stated, your demons were too strong and slayed any chances of hopeful plans for the future. I’ve often thought of you over the last 8 years and was shocked to see your obituary today. I will remember you as a very kind man who loved animals - especially your dogs. You told awesome stories from your life experiences and you always had the most wicked stereos that made listening to music so much more enjoyable. Truly you were one of the most unique characters I’ve ever met in my life and I will remember you with fondness and regret.
As of today I am the only person to leave a memory. I wish I could have helped you slay your demons. Rest In Peace my friend, be free, one day we’ll meet again.
