Obituary of Albert Honore Dionne

Please share a memory of Albert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Albert “Bert” Honore Dionne on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at the age of 85.  He is survived by his three sons, Allan (Elizabeth), Jason (Karen) and Greg (Mary-Ann); grandchildren, Gabriel, Merial (Isaac Bull) and Noah; siblings, Rose Wickenheiser (Pat), Jerry (Vivian), Betty Van Roon (John), Donna Meads (Ed) and Kathy Storle (Orin); as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Bert was predeceased by his wife Eva "Jo"; parents Honore and Evelyn; and partner Marg Bornhorst.

Bert worked for the City of Regina as a Firefighter for 31 years. He had great carpentry skills.  Bert’s motto was to measure twice and cut once.  He was a perfectionist with all of the work that he did and took great pride in a job well done.  Bert was very athletic, as he played hockey, baseball, slow-pitch, and curling.  He kept active well into his 70s.  Bert was a great father, grandfather, brother and friend.  He was a man of few words, but we knew that he loved his family through his actions.  He will be greatly missed.

A special thanks to the staff at College Park II for the excellent care that Bert received.  A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, June 3, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at Resurrection R.C. Parish, 3155 Windsor Park Rd., Regina, SK. For those not able to attend, a livestream may be viewed at www.resurrectionparish.ca.  Donations in memory of Bert can be made to Parkinson Canada at www.parkinson.ca.
