Obituary of Robert Lewis Pittendrigh
With great sorrow, the families of Robert Lewis Pittendrigh, age 91, announce his passing, on Monday, February 7, 2022, with his son by his side. Robert fought a courageous battle with heart and kidney failure and is finally at rest.
Robert leaves behind his wife Irene; sons Scott and Barry; daughter-in-law Julia; and grandchildren Quintin and Natalia; along with Robert's sister, Melita (Clemence) and her children.
Robert made his living working for Regina Transit and considered himself fortunate that his job allowed him to provide so well for his family. In his early retirement, Robert took part in many public housing and service group boards and became a keen student of corporate governance.
Robert was deeply involved in the Saskatchewan Genealogical Society, a voracious reader of Scottish history, and a collector of antiquarian books, coins, and stamps. A consummate raconteur with a wide circle of friends and acquaintances, few would guess that he systematically read his way through the stacks of the public library. An avid walker, he relished his Northgate Walkers' Club participation.
A Funeral Service celebrating Robert's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at Westminster United Church, 3025 13th Avenue, Regina, SK. Interment will follow. Online messages of condolence may be left at www.paragonfuneralservices.com.
