Obituary of Sterling Lyle Delorme

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of a loving father, son, brother, uncle and cousin, Sterling Lyle Delorme, aged 51 years, who began his journey to the spirit world on November 30, 2021 in Regina, SK.

Sterling Lyle will be lovingly remembered by his children Jocelyn (Sidney), Tyrel and his unborn grandchild; his Delorme uncles and aunties: Sherman, Brenda, Elaine, Destiny, Elwin and Grant, who raised him in his early years; his McKay family: Brenda, Ross, Roy, Gloria and Wally; his brothers and sisters Natasha, Rivers, Damon, Eagle and Bacilia; Afton and Brendan; as well as cousins he made many memories with, Jason and William “Willie”.

Greeting Sterling will be his Kokum and Mushums Yvonne and William “Budgie” Delorme, Helen and Allen McKay; his mother Lulu; mother Sharon Delorme, who raised him; his departed Delorme family Beverley, Harvey and Reynold; McKay family Lloyd, Colin, Diane, Marilyn, Laura and Elaine; also his brother Brett.

Sterling was good at any sport he played. He excelled at volleyball and baseball, going far and wide to play in many tournaments. Sterling took pride in his fishing and hunting skills, spending time with his brothers and enjoying the hunt. He was most at ease on the land, and completed an eco-tourism course. Sterling was a pipefitter by trade and made many friends along the way.

Affectionately known as Lylo or Lyle-a-bun, his easy-going nature and big smile is going to be missed by all. He leaves behind many cousins and friends who looked up to him and will keep his memory alive.

A Wake will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at Kahkewistahaw Community Complex, Kahkewistahaw First Nation, SK. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 6, 2021 from the same location. Interment to follow at Marieval Cemetery, Cowessess First Nation, SK.
