Obituary of Muriel Grill

Please share a memory of Muriel to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with incredible sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, and dear friend on Sunday,  November 21, 2021 at the Regina Pasqua Hospital after a brief fight with kidney cancer at the age of 72. She was born on June 6, 1949 in Melville, SK and moved to Regina as a young girl. She married Bill Grill and raised a family, but had so much love to give that she dedicated her life to caring for other’s children. She had a daycare in her home for over 30 years and was “Auntie” to many. Muriel leaves to cherish her memory her three daughters Carla (Joy) West and Leah (Reid) Baiton of Regina; and Therese Okotinsky of Saskatoon; six adored grandchildren Abby West and Lucy and baby Baiton of Regina; and Victoria, Angela and Katie Okotinsky of Saskatoon; siblings Lorna (Herb) Schmidt, Charlene (Murray) Larsen, and Glen (Sandra) Kammer; in-laws Katherine Lemieux, Trudy (Wayne) Rutten, Stella (Al) Labbie, Bernadette Kutarna, Joe (Dolores) Grill, Lorraine Grill, numerous, extremely loved nieces and nephews, and dear neighbours and friends. Muriel was predeceased by her loving husband Bill; by her father Martin Kammer; her mother Anne Kammer; father-in-law William Grill; mother-in-law Theresa Grill; brothers-in-law Andy Lemieux, John Grill, Gerald Grill, and Jim Hutchinson; sisters-in-law Marianne Hutchinson, Marilyn Grill and Rita Grill. Prayers will be held Friday, November 26, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Child Roman Catholic Church.  The Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Holy Child Roman Catholic Church with Archbishop Donald Bolen, celebrant.  Private family inurnment at a later date.  Special thank you to the wonderful nurses and doctors of the Accountable Care Unit and the Palliative Care Unit at the Pasqua Hospital for their amazing care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made of the Pasqua Hospital Palliative Care Unit 3A, 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK, S4T 1A5.
